Volumetric Ball Bar Test Our ball bar test is based on ASME B89.4.1997 section 5.5.2 and evaluates the volumetric performance of your CMM. Spheres on the ends of extension bars are measured at 15 different positions throughout the machine's measuring range. The distance between the two spheres is calculated at each position . Range, ambient temperature affect, linear error , XY, XZ and YZ squareness and machine repeatability is reported. The ball bar data along with a Certificate of Calibration and machine identification tag will be provided.
